"That day, the human race remembered the terror of being dominated by them, and the shame of being held captive in a birdcage..." — Over 100 years ago, a natural predator of humanity appeared: the Titans, giant humanoid but mindless monsters whose sole purpose of existence seemed to be to devour humans. There was an insurmountable gap in power between them and mankind, and as a result, humanity was rapidly exterminated to the brink of extinction. The survivors responded by constructing three concentric walls: Wall Maria, Wall Rose and Wall Sina, which graced them with a century of peace. However, one day a Colossal Titan far larger than any other seen before breached the outer wall, allowing the smaller Titans to invade the human territory and forcing the survivors to retreat to the inner walls. Eren Jaeger, a boy whose mother was eaten during the invasion, vowed to wipe every last Titan off the face of the Earth, and joined the military determined to exact his revenge. |

 Eren Jaeger (エレン・イェーガー Eren Yēgā?) was born and raised in Shiganshina District, which is located on the southern edge of Wall Maria. He lived there until the year 845, when the Colossal and Armored Titans breached the Wall, allowing a flood of Titans to invade and destroy the city. During the incident, Eren witnessed his mother being murdered and eaten by a smiling Titan. This event aroused in Eren an intense hatred towards the Titans, and he swore to wipe all of them off the face of the earth. After waking up from a nightmare interrupted by Mikasa, they stroll through the city and Eren expresses anger at being kept like cattle within the Walls, revealing his intentions in joining the Scout Regiment. Mikasa scolds him, not taking his words seriously, and later reveals what he said to their parents. Carla is shocked and angered, saying she will not let him join the Scouts due to their high mortality rate. She begs Grisha to talk some sense into Eren, but Grisha ignores her objections and instead announces that he will be leaving for a few days on a trip and that when he comes back, he will show Eren what he has hidden in the basement of their home. Enthralled, Eren joins his mother and Mikasa in waving him off. Carla reminds him that she will not allow him to join the Scout Regiment, and they exchange a heated argument before he runs off. Eren and Mikasa scare off bullies harassing their neighborhood friend Armin Arlelt. Eren offers Armin a hand but Armin rejects, expressing discontent with his abilities to protect himself and admits he is weak. The three stroll through Shiganshina and settle by the riverbank, where Eren reveals his intentions of joining the Scout Regiment to Armin.
 Eren Yeager (エレン・イェーガー Eren Yēgā?) was a former member of the Survey Corps. He was the main protagonist of Attack on Titan. He lived in Shiganshina District with his parents until the fall of Wall Maria, where he impotently witnessed his mother being eaten by a Titan. After Eren is woken from a nightmare by Mikasa, the two walk home through Shiganshina. They are harassed by Hannes, who begins teasing Eren for having apparently cried in his sleep. Eren is annoyed to see that Hannes and his friends are slacking off on the job and refuses to be placated by their claims that the Titans will never breach Wall Maria. Leaving Hannes behind, the children stop again to watch the Survey Corps return from an expedition and Eren is crestfallen to see that the Corps has returned defeated. |

 THE FINAL CHAPTERS Special 2 (完結編（後編） Kanketsu-hen (Kōhen)?) is the 2nd TV special of the Attack on Titan anime. It was produced by MAPPA. The Scouts and Warriors begin their battle on the back of Eren Jaeger's Founding Titan, only for Armin Arlelt to be captured by a member of a previous generation of the Nine Titans under the Founder's control. Being absorbed by Ymir like this takes Armin into the Paths where he finds and convinces Zeke to help them. This allows incarnations of the Nine Titans belonging to their deceased friends to switch sides and allow them to decapitate Eren's Founding Titan. When a wriggling centipede creature emerges from the neck to try to connecting with the head, Armin transforms into the Colossal Titan to try destroying it. Eren revives in a new Founding Titan form the same size as Armin's Colossal Titan and the two grapple while their friends who also have Titan powers strive to hold back the centipede. Mikasa and Levi Ackermann fly on Falco Grice's Jaw Titan to finish off Eren as Mikasa struggles with her headaches. Levi breaks a hole into the mouth of Eren's Titan with a Thunder Spear, creating an opening for Mikasa to go through. She finds Eren's head inside and severs it from its spine, killing him and thus creating the future he foresaw with Ymir, where the power of the Titans disappears, leaving all Eldians as ordinary humans.
 Bad Boy (悪童 Akudō?) is the 3rd special chapter of the Attack on Titan manga, written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. In the past, in the Underground, a young Levi tried to sneak into a mercantile carriage to retrieve a tea set that belonged to his mother but was pawned off by the brothel's owner after her death to be sold on the surface. After he was caught and apprehended by the merchants, they toyed with the idea of selling him as well. When he reacted violently, he was beaten within an inch of his life and this triggered his awakening. After Levi brutally killed all the others, the last merchant reluctantly gave back what Levi came for. He then tried to persuade Levi that he should be spared so that he could convince his other associates not to retaliate, but Levi was unconvinced it would be necessary and so proceeded to kill him as well. Some time later, after Kenny abandoned him, Levi went back to his mother's room and prepared tea for himself. As he was about to take the first sip from his mother's teacup, its handle broke, dooming the teacup to crash on the ground. In the present, Levi is telling this story to Gabi Braun to explain why he holds cups without touching the handle, prompted by her ridiculing him for it a moment before. She apologizes and vows that from now on she too will hold cups the same way, much to Falco Grice's annoyance. |
