 Misao Harada was once a young girl who could see supernatural beings, unlike normal people. Since she was bullied for it, the only friends she had were her neighbor Kyo Usui who could also see these creatures. One day Kyo had to move back to his hometown, he swore that we could come back to make Misao his bride. Which she was clueless of. On her 16th birthday, these beings became more than harmless as they have started trying to kill her. Kyo comes back in time to save her from being eaten. She finds out that she is a "Bride of Prophecy" which is also known as "The Senka". who brings prosperity to the demon clan they marry into or makes them immortal if they eat her. Misao now has to understand the circumstances if she agrees to marry Kyo, demon or yokai and the current clan leader of the Tengu. In 2009, Black Bird won the 54th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōjo manga category.
