75100 First Order Snowspeeder is a set released in 2015 as part of the The Force Awakens line. It includes two First Order Snowtrooper and First Order Snowtrooper Officer minifigures.
Description
The light and dark blueish Grey based ground vehicle is non-enclosed and features two seats in the back, a gunner position in the front and much room for storage. The speeder includes 13 stud shooters, 6 of which are located at the engines respectively and one in the front. For play value, the bottom of the speeder features four clear tyre pieces to roll it around.
Background
The Light Infantry Utility Vehicle (LIUV), or First Order snowspeeder, was a wedge-shaped assault craft used in frigid climates. The snowspeeder was manned by one First Order snowtrooper, and could hold two others, one of which could take control of the forward-mounted blaster cannon. Snowspeeders were present at Starkiller Base during the Battle of Starkiller Base thirty years after the Battle of Endor. The Resistance-affiliated individuals Finn and Rey stole one in order to infiltrate the thermal oscillator, a key point of the base. They briefly dueled with another snowspeeder before forcing it to crash, and they soon arrived at their destination.
