The Ghost Hunt Wiki (founded August 2010) is dedicated to the manga and anime series Ghost Hunt. Both are based on the light novel series by Fuyumi Ono. The novel is not widely published, so little information has been included from this. Please feel free to join us and fill in the blanks.
Ghost Hunt is a paranormal / mystery series that takes place over the course of about a year. The main character is a high school student named
Mai Taniyama, who works for
Kazuya Shibuya (Naru), the young president of
Shibuya Psychic Research (SPR). Along the way, she meets his
silent assistant, a
monk, a
shrine maiden, an
Australian priest, a
TV medium, and a
young, intelligent researcher, and of course, a few ghosts! The series focuses on a range of supernatural and psychic phenomena, as well as religion, particularly in Japanese culture. Despite the genre, it is not known for being a particularly scary series, although it has its chill-inducing moments. One of Ghost Hunt's best features is the interesting relationships between characters and the thoughtful, intelligent approach the author takes to the supernatural.
