The The MA-05 Bigro (ビグロ Biguro^?) is a mobile armor (MA) from the manga Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt and the second season of its animated adaptation and subsequent compilation movie.

Technology & Combat Characteristics

Bigro is one of the earliest space-use MA made into practical level made by Principality of Zeon during the One Year War. Its structure was simple, combining a wedge-shaped body with two claw arms. The secret was in its massive size, which allowed it to carry large equipment that set it apart from MS, including a large mega particle cannon, as well as super-high-output generators and thrusters. In particular, the generator output was more than 18 times that of the Zaku II (Thunderbolt Ver.), allowing it to fully operate the large mega particle cannon and high-thrust thrusters. While it was not as versatile as an Mobile Suit (MS), its firepower and mobility in space can overwhelmed any MS. It excels at hit-and-run tactics that make the most of its large firepower and thrust, and is said to have destroyed many Earth Federation ships and MS. Several units, including its variants, were deployed in the Battle A Baoa Qu, and a unit believed to be a later model was engaged in combat with Bianca Carlyle's GM.^[1]

Armaments

Mega Particle Cannon: Built into the nose of the Bigro, it is the machine's main armament and is shielded by a beak-shaped cover when not in use.

Quadruple Missile Launcher: Four small missile launchers are equipped on each side of the machine, above the claw arms. They could be used to gain an advantage in high-speed combat by blocking the enemy unit's movement with a barrage of missiles.

Claw Arm: A pair of large arms installed at the front of the machine as AMBAC limbs. The tip of the arms have three claws and were designed to be used in striking attacks. They are strong enough to penetrate Luna Titanium alloy, and can also perform simple actions such as grabbing enemy units.

History

In U.C 0079 a Bigro was deployed during the Battle of A Baoa Qu, and it engages with Bianca Carlyle's RGM-79 GM (Thunderbolt). Due to its sheer size it manage to capture and corner Bianca's GM, but unfortunately it was destroyed after it body stabbed by the GM.^[2]
