Technology & Combat Characteristics
A historical "what if" mobile suit. In historical fact, the "Gundam Development Project" was developed based on the Gundam Prototype Unit 0 "Blossom", but if Engage Zero's technology had been adopted, a machine that also integrated ("engaged") the elements of Blossom would have been constructed.[1]
As a result of incorporating the characteristics of both Blossom, which aims to be a high-performance all-purpose machine, and Engage Zero, which focuses on high-mobility combat, it boasts an extremely high degree of perfection as a general-purpose mobile suit.[1]

As the RX-78GP00 Gundam "Blossom" was selected as the winner of the trials for Gundam Development Project, the RX-78GPZ01 Engage Gundam was never constructed and it, and its variants, only existed on paper.

Notes & Trivia
- Its model number is the same as the GP01 "Zephyranthes", but with a "Z" added to represent the prototype Z.
- Although concepts and official art shows it with two beam sabers at the back of the shoulders, they are missing from the Engage Gundam's in-game 3D model, though the points at which they would attach appear to be there.
