Jay Cartwright
Jay Cartwright is one of the three tritagonists, alongside his friends, Neil Sutherland and Simon Cooper from The Inbetweeners. He attended sixth form at Rudge Park Comprehensive in the United Kingdom as a student throughout the series and finishes his education there near the beginning of The Inbetweeners Movie. He is the least socially-acceptable of his friendship group, being rude and abrasive, but has deeper feelings than a first glance would suggest.
Jay is portrayed by actor James Buckley and his role as Jay is what sparked his popularity as an actor due to the show being successful across the United Kingdom. As well as this, his role as Jay led him to win several awards, such as: Best TV Comedy Actor at the British Comedy Awards in 2010, Comedy Performance at the Royal Television Society and a BAFTA nomination for Male Performance in a Comedy Programme in the same year.
