Kylie Jean is an French media franchise that traces its roots from the book series of the same name, which follows a young preteen-aged girl named Kylie Jean Carter, who lives in a care home that she has named, Peach Tree Lane. She was placed there many years ago by her mother for domestic violence. The book follows her as she tries to get on with life at the PTL, meets Courtney Bell and gets fostered by her. Kylie Jean doesn't know what kind of mother she has but to remember her she has a picture to remind her.

Kylie thinks her mum is pretty enough to be on a movie especially a Hollywood movie and always goes on about how wonderful her mum is. At the start, Kylie begins talking about her life writing facts about her life. She then writes about a story about her life, until she is interrupted by Grace the Pain. After that she tells her life in order. Previously, she had been adopted by Eva and Jayden, until they have a baby and take her to a foster home due to her previous actions with babies.

After that, she is taken to a woman who she calls Aunty Stella. However, that does not succeed and she ends up back in her old foster home, which she calls "Peach Tree Lane". Outraged, she finds her old best friend Lucy is now friends Paula Dupree instead. Furiously, she breaks Paula's Pippi Longstocking clock, which her dad gave her. She ended up in trouble and in anger. Then, since she wasn't fostered in some time, they took up writing things about her in an ad that she is furious at Grace for. Then, an unsuccessful author Courtney Bell appears and her and Kylie have a spark. She ends up fostering her.
