London's Burning is a drama series which centres around the work and personal lives of the Blue Watch firefighters stationed at Blackwall fire station in London. It originated with a 1986 television movie written by Jack Rosenthal, which evolved into a full series two years later. Its blend of action, drama and black comedy and quirky characters like "Bayleaf", "Sicknote", "Vaseline", John Hallam, Nick 'Zorba' Georgiadis and George Green made London's Burning a hit with television viewers, attracting audiences of 16-18 million at its peak.
