Medal of Honor is a series of first-person shooter games developed by and published by Electronic Arts and its subsidiaries and affiliates. It is one of the most well-known shooter series, and was one of the pioneers of World War II shooter games. It was created by American film director Steven Spielberg.
The games put the player in the boots of an American soldier or operative. Most of the games are set during World War II, but a few focus on modern warfare. The games are often characterized by linear gameplay through recognizable WWII-era areas of conflict, which is sometimes presented in a cinematic tone.
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is the latest game in the series. It is a virtual reality game set during World War II and featuring a deep single-player campaign, multiplayer modes, and interviews with WWII survivors and veterans. It requires the use of a VR headset; Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Valve Index headsets are supported. It is developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, to be released on December 11, 2020.
