ABOUT MUV-LUV
Muv-Luv (マブラヴ, Mabu Ravu) is a multimedia franchise published by Japanese developer âge/aNCHOR and first released in 2003 with the eponymous visual novel Muv-Luv. In 2006, the sequel Muv-Luv Alternative was released. Together, Muv-Luv (including the parts "Extra" and "Unlimited") and Muv-Luv Alternative form the Muv-Luv trilogy. The original trilogy has since spawned several spinoffs and related titles, both in visual novel form and in form of light novels, manga, anime and video games.

The Muv-Luv Trilogy follows Shirogane Takeru as he lives a peaceful life at highschool surrounded by a harem of classmates until he is one day transported to an alternate reality in which humanity has been fighting a decades long war against alien invaders. Muv-Luv contains the first two parts of the trilogy Extra and Unlimited. The final story arc Muv-Luv Alternative received its own release.

Muv-Luv Unlimited The Day After shows a different outcome of the events of Muv-Luv Unlimited in which humanity makes a depserate last ditch effort against the alien invaders but has to pay a steep price for doing so. The sequel to this 4 part series, Muv-Luv Resonative, is currently in development.

Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse takes place during the years leading up to the events of Muv-Luv Alternative but follows a different cast of test pilots developing new TSFs in a research base in Alaska.

Schwarzesmarken follows the East German Army's 666th TSF Squadron in its battles and political conflicts in 1983, during the BETA's westward push into Europe through the eyes of one of its members, Theodor Eberbach.

Over the years, several shorter stories depicting certain characters from the main trilogy as protagonists or introducing new characters and settings have been released, often as bonusses in magazines or other releases. Most of these short stories have been collected as part of the Chronicles and Photon series.

Although lately the Muv-Luv series and its spin offs seem to have taken over the entire output of âge, they have released a number of other titles and fandiscs, some of which are more or less loosely connected to the Muv-Luv universe. Several of these have been developed by sister brands such as Phi Age and Mirage or released exclusively through the âge fan club.
