Years later, Yūichirō is training to join the Japanese Imperial Demon Army, willing to embrace Cursed Gear to enact vengeance upon the vampires for what they put them through. Though vampires, demons and the Seraph of the End are not the only hardships that lie ahead.

Mahiru, Ferid, and Guren sense that Ky Luc has turned into a demon. Ferid thinks Mahiru was behind it, to keep him from becoming too powerful. Wondering how they would handle betrayal, Ferid throws Guren into a building. When Ferid feels able to challenge both second progenitors, Mahiru states devouring vampires would turn him into a demon.

At the Moon Demon Company's mansion it's recalled how Ferid first gained the ability to absorb other vampires. Guren said side effects would result in Ferid turning into a demon in less than half a year. To check if there was anything else added to him, Ferid threatened a researcher's family to gain answers.

Presently, Ferid doubts Mahiru's spell would actually work. Mahiru activates the curse and Ferid is incapacitated as he becomes a demon. Guren's squad join them as does Kureto and Shinya. Since Ferid is known to betray others, Mahiru asks if he really thought they would let a researcher near him to give what information he did.

Within his sphere, Crowley and Krul see Ferid's current state. Chess and Horn also see the curse is going to affect them. The Ferid near the tree they are in severs one of the chains. In a demonic state, Ferid claims to be willing to obey Guren, so Mahiru ends the demon transformation process.

Shinya has read the materials back in the hotel and burnt them. Ferid feels left out of a plan, but thinks he only has a few days to achieve his own goal. Within, the vampires won't assist Ferid, indeed Crowley views memories of his past. When Ferid was 25 he was involved in Ancient Rome's invasion of Ancient Greece. It was to get him closer to the East where an immortal that drinks blood was located.
