Contributors are needed, badly! If you own any of the seven books and would be willing to help us expand our encyclopaedia following our policies, it would be much appreciated.
Welcome to The Potter Dictionary Wiki, a free online dictionary and encyclopaedia of facts and information from the ten books by J. K. Rowling. Because we cover information from all ten books, spoilers will be present for those who have not read the entire series. Please take caution when reading these articles if you have not read all seven books, if you do not with to be spoiled.
Please note that only information coming directly from the ten Harry Potter books (Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, Deathly Hallows, Quidditch, Fantastic Beasts and Tales of Beedle) will be accepted here. Things from the video games, films, official websites and interviews will be accepted on the Harry Potter Wiki, if you want to find a place for that information; please do not add such to our database, as this is a books-only wiki. Thank you for your understanding in this sort of matters.
Before contributing to our database, please be sure you read our policies and understand the terms and conditions therein; failure to comply with said policies may result in a temporary or permanent block, the length of which will vary due to cause, number of warnings, and the administrator or bureaucrat issuing the block.
Our administration team is glad to help with any matters in which assistance is needed; you can contact us here, here or here. For matters that directly influence the entire wiki, the main talk page is recommended.
