This wiki follows the three versions of the groundbreaking queer television series Queer as Folk:
Quickly after, the American adaptation was commissioned and released on Showtime. It aired for five years from 2000-2005, and followed the lives of Brian Kinney, Justin Taylor, Michael Novotny, Emmett Honeycutt, Ted Schmidt and their friends. Focusing on the loves, careers, ambitions and relationships of a group of gay men and women, in this compelling and graphically-realistic drama filled with strong dialogue, witty comedy, and provocatively sexual detail. In 2021, it was announced that a reboot would be arriving in 2022, commissioned and released on Peacock. The first season dropped on the ninth of June 2022 and consisted of eight episodes. It follows a diverse group of friends in New Orleans who find their lives transformed in the aftermath of shooting at a queer nightclub called the Babylon. The group struggles with vulnerability, addiction, grief, and relationships. |
