About
Shantae is a series of "Metroidvania" platforming video games created by Matt and Erin Bozon and developed by WayForward. The first game released in 2002 on the Game Boy Color and received critical acclaim but poor sales. Since then, four more games have been released on various platforms to wide success. The latest game, Shantae and the Seven Sirens, released in 2019 on Apple Arcade and in 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
In all of the games, players take control of Shantae, a half-genie and the protector of Scuttle Town, as she defends the town from evil villains such as her archenemy, the pirate Risky Boots. Like other "Metroidvania" platforming games, players acquire new abilities throughout the course of Shantae games that allow them to unlock previously-inaccessible content from earlier stages.How to Help
