Team StarKid originated as a student created theatre troupe originating from Ann Arbor, Michigan, founded in 2009 by theatre students at the University of Michigan. Since their first show, A Very Potter Musical, gained major traction online, StarKid Productions has created fourteen full length musicals all professionally recorded and uploaded to YouTube for free. The troupe has been based in both Michigan and Chicago and is currently based in Los Angeles, California.
