Automap

Automaps were tracking devices that allowed an individual to locate their exact position on a planetary surfaces. Many commercial models were available, from hand-held units to ones designed to be installed in droids, such as SoroSuub's "AutoTracker" Droid GPS Module.^[1] SoroSuub also produced the "Tracker" GPS Module hand-held unit.^[2]

The automap was linked to an orbiting satellite or starship sensors. Data broadcast to the user included location, local weather conditions, and navigational hazards.^[1]
