The EML-850 light freighter was a type of light freighter. The high material cost of the freighter thwarted any chance of mass production. The Trailblazer was an EML-850 light freighter designed in the Republic Era.

The EML-850 light freighter^[2] was designed and produced by the Barsha family of Corellian industrialists^[1] during the Republic Era.^[2] It was designed to be equally well-armored and cargo-capable, making it ideal for smugglers and other criminals,^[1] however its high cost resulted in mass production being abandoned^[4] in favor of other models. Most of the remaining freighters were scrapped, with the exception of the Trailblazer, which was used by Sliro Barsha as his personal starship. The Trailblazer was later stolen from Barsha's mansion Westhill Palace by Canto Bight thief Kay Vess, who used it as her own. Although Sliro lost the Trailblazer definitively to Vess, the starship was previously stolen by Jet Kordo.^[1]

EML-850s were light and fast single-pilot freighters. They had an exterior plating of durasteel which made the craft durable but very expensive.^[1] They were also equipped with a hyperdrive, deflector shields, laser cannons^[2] and a cargo bay.^[1]
