Endente

"I bet he pays us triple!"
―Endente, after Dooku guarantees giving Endente what he "deserves"[4]

Endente was a Sugi arms dealer who at some point made a deal with Governor Torul Blom and Count Dooku to provide the Confederacy of Independent Systems with a giant kyber crystal.

Biography

Endente was the leader of a group of Sugi arms dealers during the Clone Wars. In 19 BBY, he negotiated with Count Dooku, leader of the Separatist Alliance, to sell him a large kyber crystal.[4] He had also allied himself with the corrupt Governor Torul Blom by the time of his attempts to sell the prized possession.[2]

Endente and his right-hand, Chong, later captured Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and prepared to deliver the crystal to their Separatist clients in Pau City. Count Dooku also made it clear that if the arms dealer failed, he would not only lose his money but his life as well. Endente assured the impatient Sith Lord that the merchandise would be delivered on schedule, to which Dooku ominously promised to give him what he "deserves". The greedy Sugi assumed that the Serennian count would pay him triple.

However, Endente ultimately lost the transport with the crystal which was captured by Kenobi and Skywalker, but still got to the city on his speeder. Shortly after arriving, he proceeded to Governor Blom's office. As he was about to speak Endente realized that he and the Pau'an were not alone and saw Count Dooku's enforcer, General Grievous. The cyborg warlord was just as displeased as his master and asked the arms dealer where the crystal was. The Sugi attempted to cover up his failure by claiming that the merchandise would be delivered on time. Grievous sarcastically asked again if the Jedi were also part of the plan after which he revealed that he knew that Endente had lost the crystal. The droid general then stated that he had no more business to do with him. Grievous grabbed the fearful arms dealer and decapitated him, after which he threw Endente's body to the other side of the room. Grievous then went to deal with the two Jedi himself.[2]

Behind the scenes

Endente first appeared in an unfinished episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, "In Search of the Crystal," and was voiced by James Hong, who also voiced Azmorigan in Star Wars Rebels.
