Plot summary
MACE WINDU Book I, Part III |

The comic opens with a flashback to AD-W4 meeting with General Grievous, where Grievous briefed him on the mission to Hissrich and the possibility of Jedi coming to investigate. AD-W4 makes it very clear that he is there for the credits, not the Separatist cause.
Back on Hissrich, Rissa Mano and Mace Windu are once again fighting battle droids. Windu tries to take out a harvester droid and with the help of Mano's lightsaber, destroys it. The two Jedi decide to continue looking for the main base.
Meanwhile, Kit Fisto and Prosset Dibs find themselves in a pitch-black cave, joking about Dibs' blindness. They discover a Milodon and have to kill it.
Grievous checks in with AD-W4 on the status of the Hissrich operation, and AD-W4 tells him that everything is progressing normally. Grievous asks about the Jedi to which AD-W4 replies that Windu is dead. When Grievous asks to see the Jedi lightsabers as proof, AD-W4 asks one of his battle droids for them but finds that they do not have any lightsabers, leading the mercenary to destroy that droid and stalk away.
Windu and Mano decide to regroup at the ship with the news that the droids are mobilizing to look for them. Meanwhile, Fisto and Dibs discover the corpses of the indigenous population that they were trying to protect. Dibs is furious, asking how this is the Jedi fulfilling their duty. Dibs and Fisto return to the ship as rain pours down and AD-W4 searches for them.
Dibs confronts Windu, saying that he lied to them and that the Council is using the Jedi, rejecting the current path of the Order. Windu finds his accusations ridiculous and the situation escalates as Fisto holds Mano back. The comic ends with Windu challenging Dibs to determine who is correct.
