- "Funny, isn't it, how things wind up. I remember when being in a system this close to the edge of Imperial space meant you slept in your X-wing. Instead, here we are, strolling along like we were on Svivren or Ord Mantell."
- ―Wedge Antilles
Morishim was a planet in the Albarrio sector of the Outer Rim and the homeworld of the Morish species.
History
Imperial era
After the Battle of Endor, Morishim was integrated in the Pentastar Alignment and later in the Imperial Remnant.[3] The planet was the location of a secret Imperial communications center. This center, in a cave of the High Tatmana, was left behind after the Empire pulled out to the planet. It was then used by one of the locals and Imperial spy, the Old Recluse, to gain information on galactic affairs and indoctrinate the population.[2]
New Republic era
In 17 ABY, the planet was liberated by the New Republic,[3] which later established a starfighter base there.[2]
In 19 ABY, Colonel Meizh Vermel was sent on a mission by Admiral Gilad Pellaeon to seek out New Republic General Garm Bel Iblis to ask for peace negotiations. His CR90 corvette was captured by Captain Dorja of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Relentless above Morishim before his message could be heard properly.[2]
Later history
In the early stages of the Yuuzhan Vong War, Morishim was taken by the Yuuzhan Vong as the invaders continued their strike towards the planet of Coruscant.[3]
The world was likely among those liberated by the Imperial Remnant, as it fell within their expanded territory following the defeat of the Yuuzhan Vong.[3]
Other
The wk'ou melon grew there.[2]
