"Commander, the invasion fleet is coming out of hyperspace."
Captain Rex, to Ahsoka Tano[1]

During the Clone Wars, the Fifth Fleet of the Galactic Republic's naval forces dispatched an invasion fleet to the planet Ryloth.[1] In 21 BBY,[4] comprised of three Acclamator-class assault ships, the fleet was commanded by Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu, who arrived in the system and led the assault ships to Ryloth following the dispatchment of the Separatist Alliance's orbital blockade, which was destroyed by the fleet of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker.[1]

While landing on the surface, the assault ship's suffered heavy fire from Separatist J-1 proton cannons, resulting in the destruction of one of their engines, forcing them to deploy the Republic's 212th Attack Battalion led by General Kenobi to destroy the cannons in order for the assault ships to land.[2] Successful in their efforts, the Acclamator-class vessels continued their landing procedures and deployed the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps commanded by General Windu after landing, which allowed the Republic to liberate Ryloth from the Confederacy's control.[5]

Behind the scenes

The Ryloth invasion fleet was introduced in "Storm Over Ryloth,"[1] the nineteenth episode of the first season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which aired on February 27, 2009.[6]
