Opening crawl

THE REBELLION
VOL. 1
The Galactic Civil War has begun. As open resistance
spreads across the galaxy, the Rebel Alliance has won its
first major battle against the Galactic Empire - destroying
its greatest weapon, the Death Star, in the Battle of Yavin.

With this victory comes a new hope to the galaxy. But the
losses suffered by the rebels in the midst of its success are
significant: Rebel leader Princess Leia Organa witnessed
the destruction of her homeworld; farmboy-turned-hero
Luke Skywalker lost the only family and friends he knew;
and smuggler Han Solo is confronted with the
unanticipated consequences of joining the Rebellion.

Meanwhile, after the fearsome Darth Vader's narrow
escape from the destruction of the Death Star, the Dark
Lord has become consumed with the desire to find the
Force-strong young pilot who fired the fatal shot. For many,
Luke Skywalker represents the heart and soul of the Rebel
Alliance - and perhaps for Vader, he represents much
more.

Now, with the rebel base on Yavin 4 exposed, the Alliance
must find a new stronghold from which to continue the war
against the Empire....
