Appearances
Didi this ship appear in episodes five and episode six like I Saw Luke flying this thing —Unsigned comment by Mrjosh1994 (talk • contribs). Yes, it did appear in Episode V, but was abandoned at Cloud City on Bespin, so Luke had to acquire another one in Episode VI. --Retro Reed (talk) 15:37, August 9, 2018 (UTC)
Making sure
Are we sure that Red Five refers to the X-wing and isn't actually the callsign?--Vitus InfinitusTalk 19:49, August 6, 2018 (UTC)
- The comics treat "Red Five" as Luke's callsign. In Star Wars 22, he uses it to refer to himself when he and Artoo secure the reactor room aboard the Harbinger. He later adopts a different callsign mid-battle (while flying his X-wing) in Star Wars 52. Archimedean (talk) 21:27, August 6, 2018 (UTC)
AA-589
In Chapter 15 the TROS novel, we have this: "Poe called up the identification. “That’s an old craft ID. AA-589.” He stepped back, blinking. Turned to Finn. “It is Luke Skywalker’s X-wing.” Finn gaped." Shouldn't we rename the article to AA-589/Canon, then? (Also, was Red Five actually ever used as the name of the ship anyway?) --Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 18:48, April 12, 2020 (UTC)
- Yes it was called Red Five in both of the Ultimate Star Wars books. - Red Duel 21:30, April 12, 2020 (UTC)
- Okay then! Still, the question remains. Which is the better page name: Red Five or AA-589? --Lelal Mekha

- I would follow the Millennium Falcon example, we know it as YT 492727ZED, but it's given name is more relevant. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 11:23, April 13, 2020 (UTC)

A single article for several distinct ships?
Unless I'm mistaken, this article covers not one, but three distinct fighters: the one used by Pedrin Gaul, the one flown by Luke until the Battle of Vrogas Vas, and the one flow by Luke that ended up on Ahch-To (formal designation AA-589). Shouldn't these ships be covered in separate articles? --Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 07:25, May 6, 2020 (UTC)
How do we know if the X-Wing Luke used at Vrogas Vas isnt the same one that Luke used to destroy the death star at yavin? In the Vader Down comic it looks the same as the movies.
Maybe it's the artstyle but in the comics the x-wing's paintjob is different (for example, the lack of the yellow finish on the "nose" of the x-wing). Also disney seems to treat "aa-589" as the classic ship used in the OT. I agree that the one used by Pedrin Gaul should be adressed separately.OkClanker (talk) 19:07, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
