During the reign of the Galactic Empire, in 5 BBY, a member of this species visited the planet Ferrix, walking around the streets of Ferrix City shortly before the Consolidated Holdings of Preox-Morlana Corporation agent Syril Karn arrived.[2] Later, in 9 ABY,[3] another member of this species could be found on the moon of Trask, present on the port where Frog Lady and Frog Man reunited.[4] Even later, in 34 ABY,[5] yet another member of this species was present at Niima Outpost on Jakku when the First Order arrived in search of the droid BB-8.[1]

The species made their debut in the 2015 film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams.[1] They were designed by concept artist Jake Lunt Davies.[6]
