The Tamagotchi Angel is a vintage Tamagotchi first released in 1997, with an upcoming rerelease in North America on December 1st, 2024 and Japan on January 25th, 2025. The gameplay is very similar to the Original Tamagotchi, but users start with a Ghost Jr. and must raise them to evolve into different Angel Tamagotchis (also known as Tenshitchi). Alongside the usual needs of eating and playing games, users will find their Angels also tend to go on strolls, require praise for saying their prayers and need help fending off Battchi from stealing candy throughout their life cycle. For the latter, the device has a vibration sensor which detects nearby noise or tapping on the device to scare off said Battchi, which was used again for later releases such as the Tamagotchi Ocean and Mori de Hakken! Tamagotchi.
