Numair Salmalín (pronounced noo-MAYR sahl-mah-LEEN) was born in 424 HE as Arram Draper to Tyran merchants. He is one of the most powerful mages in the world and is the chief mage of Tortall. His father, Yusaf Draper, took him to the University to take the entrance exams, and Arram became the youngest student there.
