About The Zeta Project

In the year 2041, Infiltration Unit Zeta, a synthoid designed by the United States government to track down, replace, and eliminate suspected terrorists, discovered that one man he was sent to kill was innocent, "and that meant any of them could be." Zeta ran from his keepers, pursued by James Bennett and his team of NSA agents. His journey took him to Gotham City and eventually to Spring City, Maryland, where he met a girl named Ro Rowen and found a new purpose. If anyone could prove that Zeta was innocent and that his change of heart was not the result of terrorist reprogramming, it would be his creator, Doctor Eli Selig. Zeta and Ro set out to find Doctor Selig and prove Zeta's innocence.
The Zeta Project aired from January 27, 2001 to August 10, 2002 on Kids' WB. It was created by Robert Goodman as a spinoff to his Batman Beyond episode "Zeta." The series ended in a cliffhanger and was not renewed for a third season. While the first season has been released on DVD, Warner Brothers currently has no plans to release the second season, citing poor sales of season one.
