Tyrone William Griffin Jr., professionally known as Ty Dolla $ign (also stylized as Ty$), was born on April 13, 1982, in Los Angeles, California. He first gained recognition for his feature on rapper YG's 2010 single, "Toot It and Boot It," and signed to Atlantic Records in 2012 and Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang Entertainment in 2013. He achieved mainstream success with his 2014 single, "Paranoid," and has since then released three solo studio albums, three collaborative albums, and two extended plays. His sound is primarily rooted in hip hop and trap, where he has done numerous collaborations with other artists, earning him the reputation of "the hardest-working man in music" by The Fader. He has been nominated for five Grammy Awards. His most recent project with Kanye West, Vultures 1, was released in February 2024 to commercial success.
