The Epic of Zektbach is a multimedia project led by video game music composer Tomosuke "Zektbach" Funaki alongside graphical artist Maya Takamura. Originating from a rhythm game track composed for Beatmania IIDX, titled Apocalypse ~Dirge of Swans~, it aims to conceptualize a story through the use of Zektbach's music, as well as various other forms of media, including, but not limited to, short animated videos and textual narration.
The story centers around the fantasy world of Aria Te'Laria, where all living beings are deprived of self-awareness, thought, or emotion. After a mysterious ship falls from the sky, a bright red gem is found inside, which seemingly magical presence abruptly awakens these unconscious beings to the world. The miracles of this gem, however, will not only bring forth prosperity...
