The doctor in charge of the Newtype Laboratories located in northern Asia, Karon Ratto is in charge of not only the laboratory itself but the evaluation of Newtypes and those believed to be Newtypes. She is embroiled in the plot of the Frost brothers, to whom she allows the use of several soldiers undergoing investigation for being Newtypes.
After the Frost brothers lead all the prospective Newtypes to death without her knowledge, they inform her that the Freeden is on the way to the Newtype Labs. She agrees with Shagia Frost's plan to allow the Freeden into the lab and having the New UNE surround and capture them, but was unaware that Olba Frost was meeting with the New UNE generals and informing them that she was allowing the Freeden in because she was a traitor. She welcomes Jamil Neate into the base and has him imprisoned, but is forced to watch in horror as the Frost brothers destroy the labs with their mobile suits and is helplessly killed in the wake of their revenge.[1]
