- "Tea wouldn't be my first choice, no. I prefer the harder stuff. Y'know, blue milk, citrus juice, caf… I once drank two mugs of caf in a single day! It was a wild one."
- ―The Alliance Commander, to Ardinondu Dipolus Daeruun
Caf was a weak stimulant beverage brewed from caf beans native to the planets Garqi and Charra. On many planets, one could also buy instant caf, but most preferred it brewed the old fashioned way using a caf distiller, or with a caf dispenser. Sugar, milk, cream, and sweetener could be added to caf in order to vary the taste.
Caf was served at caf shops on Coruscant,[2] and the Oyu'baat cantina on Mandalore served a renowned blend of spiced caf.[3]
The Issori species were unable to drink caf because their digestive systems were too refined.[2]
During a conversation over subpar caf with Boba Fett, deposed Chief of State Nataasi Daala expressed her intention to ensure that, upon regaining power, the Mandalorians would possess the capability to brew a quality cup of caf. Fett snorted, saying that as long as it kept him sharp, it could "taste like poodoo" for all he cared.[4]
Behind the scenes
- "Caf? It's a bitter, uh, caffeinated beverage served hot."
- ―Khedryn Faal
Caf, stimcaf, coffeine, and coffee are almost certainly meant to be variations of coffee or caffeine.
