A harpoon gun was a hunting implement designed to fire a spearlike missile attached to a long cord. A harpoon gun that was originally intended for elephoth hunting was part of the standard equipment in the Alliance to Restore the Republic. At the Battle of Hoth, Rebel Commander Luke Skywalker salvaged a harpoon gun from his T-47 snowspeeder and used it to lift himself underneath an All Terrain Armored Transport. The commander used his lightsaber to cut a hole and then threw a thermal detonator in the hole, causing the AT-AT to blow up.[1]
Former stormtrooper Finn used a harpoon gun to shoot Wooro in the shoulder. However he forgot about the gun's recoil and got knocked out.[2]
