Synthflesh, also syntheflesh, was a medical product widely used throughout the galaxy.[2]
Characteristics
A translucent gel derived from bacta, synthflesh acted as a cellular regeneration medium; when applied to superficial wounds, synthflesh sealed the skin and promoted rapid healing of the damaged tissue. After the gel dried, it would slowly flake off to reveal new and scarless tissue.[2] Due to its impressive medical applications, it was common to find syntheflesh in first-aid kits and medpacs.[2]
Synthflesh also referred to a highly advanced form of material related to synthskin; this form of synthflesh was grown, and was used to cover artificial limbs to make them look real (such as the hyper-realistic Repli-Limb Prosthetic Replacements), or in the case of Synthdroids, the entirety of the droid.[2] Extremely realistic, synthflesh looked and felt like organic skin and muscle,[2] and was capable of matching the recipient's flesh tone and muscle build by using the recipient's genetic code as a template.[3]
